I doubt Nixon would design any of these, but their logo is pretty.

More Baby Monitors

Babies have never been so well-monitored...

Baby Monitor

Some baby monitor iterations. I thought that a baby monitor should be more of a decorative fixture in a room, not just a colorful walkie-talkie. I mostly experimented with how the two components could fit together. Since you have 'mother' and 'baby' pieces, I played with the idea of one holding or hugging the other. Ideas of how the monitor could be attached to a crib were addressed.

Photos

This is a photo series I've been messing around with. In a nutshell, I was playing with the translation from one digital medium to another and its subsequent effects. I have this thing for low-quality digital cameras and cell phone cameras. I just think they're pretty so take it or leave it.

An African Home

This is a little something that I did today. It's a home for a family in Niger Delta, Nigeria.

The idea behind it that each room, the roof canopy, the stilts, and the mechanical systems unit/cistern are all prefabricated units that could be easily shipped to the site and assembled with minimal effort. Making the home comfortable in its tropical climate was is the primary objective The walls are spaced apart wooden boards to maximize ventilation. Additionally the roof canopy is elevated off the rooms to provide a ventilation plenum/double roof. The canopy is shaped to collect water which is deposited into a cistern, giving the residents an off grid water supply

Models

One activity that I enjoy is building models. I am an advocate for the hands-on design approach model making enables. I'd say it's a necessary break from computer aided work. Anyway, here are a few projects I have done over the years.
